Anso

What
the people say is true
During
this residency I collected favourite proverbs and sayings from
local people and tourists in the Pyrenees village of Anso. These
were then translated back into English over the internet and with
help
from the few bilingual people in the village, and used to create a text.
The text was then tranlasted back into Spanish and posted around the town
in various public locations.
I performed a final
version of the text in Greek as part of a site-specific dance piece lead
by
Compania Nux, a contemporary dance company. |

Inanima
Anso
The
other project I undertook during the residency was a development
of my ongoing project, Inanima: an illustrated history of stuff,
which is a drawing diary of everyday objects. I documented
my trip to and stay in the Pyrenees and once in Anso
I befriended local people and drew objects from inside their
houses. The drawings were exhbited in a domestic interior of
a 100 year old house museum, called "Casa Morene", and were
also presented as a film screening in the local cinema.
