Erica Scourti was born in Athens, Greece, in 1980 and completed her BA Fine Art at Middlesex University after initially starting off on a Chemistry degree. Her video work has been screened internationally including at the Videonale 11 in Bonn, the Reine Sofia Museum in Madrid, 3 times at Recontres Internationales Paris/ Berlin, and throughout galleries and screenings in the UK, most recently at the Windows Gallery, Central St Martins and the SALON VIDEO ART PRIZE, London. Her videos have been included in 4 DVDs of artists video in the UK: Castlefield’s “Best of Purescreen DVD’ vols 1, 2 and 3, and the Centre of Attention’s DVD Magazine. She is part of InCounter, a project which brings together live sound performance and video screenings and has curated showreels for events in london and Berlin in this role. She is doing a residency in November 2010 at Can Serrat, Barcelona and completed a residency in the summer of 2010 at i-park, Connecticut, USA. She currently lives and works in east London, working also with young people to make participatory art works, and on a freelance basis making films for the International Center for Fine Art Research, based at Central St Martins.
