Audio titles for the hard of hearing were transcribed from 12 war movies, with the resulting text read out by a radio news broadcaster in the style of a bulletin.
Sound is translated into language via the titles, and then back into sound, thereby becoming useless with regards to its original function and leveling out the individual resonance of sounds into generic description. The film is compressed and distilled into just those moments where the sound content becomes signficant.
