Sounding Performance is the web address, site and archive for an AHRC funded workshop series called ‘Towards an Oral History of Performance and Live Art in the British Isles’, exploring the methodologies of oral history in relation to live art and performance since the mid 1960s. The year-long series of four workshops, held across the country during 2007, is intended to bring together practitioners, scholars and archivists to develop methods and approaches that will establish a major oral history project in the field.

The project is based at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design and co-ordinated by a Steering Group representing the University of the Arts London, The British Library, and the Universities of Bristol, Glasgow and Sussex.
